Message I bought one (couldn't resist for $19.95!). First off, that wire stripper thing that the "give" away with it is total crap, broke the spring in the handle the first day I used it.

The soldering iron does just what it's suppose to, but I would only use it for bigger soldering items as it doesn't come with very small tips and there is a notch in the tip (if you look close you can see it in the pics) that you have to "arc" to get it to heat up so it's not like you just touch it to the wire or solder and it works, you have to strategically touch it so whatever you are soldering makes contact with both sides of the notch in the tip. I also re-enacted the cold-hot-cold in a split second thing they do and it really does cool down that fast.

Again, for stereo speakers or bigger contact items I think it works great and it's nice not having it hot all the time while you work, but for circuit level stuff I stick to my electric iron. HTH.

Mike
